First Newborn Outfit!

February 16th:

I know, I know this is totally impractical and there is a slight chance that I will not even use this but I couldn't resist.  Nick and I were shopping at Fred Meyer and he agree to letting me look at the clearance baby clothing.  I was so excited and it was probably best that the selection was very picked over.  I came across this newborn swimsuit and couldn't put it down.  I know our baby will not come close to swimming but I do know a handful of summer birthday parties that we will be going to and our little guy will be dressed for the occasion!

Baby Boy Davis!

February 15th:

It's a BOY!  We had our official ultrasound today and are pleased to discover that we are having a boy.  Today was a beautiful, sunny day and so special because my mom, MB, Audrianna, Hannah, and Nick were all able to be in the room during the whole ultrasound. The technician was so nice and informative, she explained everything that she was looking at and measuring.  Most important, she reassured us that everything looks normal and healthy!  It was such a wonderful experience to share with our moms and Audrianna.  The exact moment of finding out the gender was especially great because Nick was the only one really paying attention to the screen.  He was watching and knew that she was in the general area and watched as she typed . . . .It's a boy!  He was so excited, he jumped up off his chair and instantly had the biggest smile on his face!  It makes my eyes water thinking about how happy he was in that moment!  We all celebrated with cheers of joy and high fives for our new little boy.  Audrianna was the only one, who was mildly disappointed that it wasn't a girl.  Once we were outside, we called and sent texts to friends and family about the exciting news.  Ross met us for dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings to celebrate.  I cannot begin to describe how special this day has been and how awesome it is to find out that we have a little boy on the way.  Nick is just over joyed and beaming from ear to ear!

Valentine's Day

February 14th:

For Valentine's Day, Nick was in charge of taking Audrianna out on a father/daugther date, and of course, he surprised her with a trip to the new Dave & Buster's Restuarant and Arcade.  They enjoyed dinner and then made their way to the arcade.  Most of their money was spent on trying to win an oversize puppy stuffed animal from this giant claw game.  Audrianna had so much fun and keeps asking, "when can we go back?"
At home, we took turns opening our Valentine gifts.  Nick and I usually give each other candy and a card.  We had a good laugh because as soon as I opened my card I knew that I had seen it before, Nick had given me the same card as last year!  Little did he know that I keep all my meaningful card in a dresser drawer.  I was super excited about my three score candy bars and Nick opened his candy right away!  We gave Audrianna a drawing game for the Xbox, a Fancy Nancy Valentine book, and a small box of chocolates.  The best part was listening to Audrianna read out loud the card we gave her and what we had written.  She is getting so big!

Greta's 6th Birhtday

February 13th:

I cannot believe that Greta is already turning 6!  Jane and Scott surprised her with a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese and she had such a blast!  I was kid and husband-less so, I had fun following Anna and Kingston around.  It was pretty cute to watch Kingston, because he had more fun putting the coins in the machines rather than playing them!  It was fun to be a part of this special day.

Baby Clare & Andrew's Birthday

February 9th:

We made a quick overnight trip to Hailey to visit baby Clare!  She is four weeks old and super sweet! We stayed with Kathy and Al, and enjoyed their generous hospitality.  We met Jason and Shannon at a Ski Joring event, which was my first experience and only something you would see in Idaho!  We even had time to sneak in a quick game of Farkle, which Shannon once again won.  It was so fun to see Clare and visit with the Kerrick's about being first time parents.  It made me super excited to meet our little one in 152 days!

Saturday night also happened to be Andrew's 33rd birthday dinner celebration.  We met a large group at a thai restaurant in Ketchum.  It was delicious food and good company!  Nick was especially excited because he ordered sushi!

Jane's Birthday

February 8th:

Scott surprise Jane with a party at their house on Friday night to celebrate her 39th birthday.  I was so worried that I was going to accidentally ruin the surprise but managed to keep it a secret.  Jane was overall surprised but had a small hint that something was going on.  We had a great night, full of pizza, cake, and visiting.  Lucy and Kingston started a game of jumping off a plastic bin on to a little pad.  It was so funny watching them over and over, in fact it entertained us for quite a while!

Pregnancy! (8 to 18 Weeks)

February 7th:

Yes, I've been taking weekly "baby bump" pictures!  I can't believe that I am currently 18 weeks along.  I started noticing around 8 weeks, but good news my bump was only noticeable in lounge clothes at home.  I'm still feeling really good, tired some days, mild headaches the next, but nothing too bad.  I did catch a  cold last week and felt pretty miserable because I was super congested.  I even resorted to doing a sinus rinse which was painful but worth it.  I've been reading a pregnancy week by week book and it is so amazing to think of the little baby growing inside me!  These pictures were taken in December before we shared our news with family and friends.  At this stage our baby was only 1.5 to 2 cm long and the size of a pinto bean!

Our first doctor's appointment was on December 3rd.  We have chosen to see Dr. Lee Parson with OBGYN Associates here in Eagle.  We had a good first appointment, the staff was excellent, and Dr. Parson was nice and super relaxed, which might be what I need during some of this process.  I did have a little mishap during having the four vitals of blood drawn, suddenly I got very dizzy and the room started to fade black.  They stopped to lay me down which was a little embarrassing but I am glad that Nick was there with me to help me through it!  We did not get to see an ultrasound and I was a little nervous to tell Audrianna without actually seeing something.  So, thanks to an awesome friend, I had my first ultrasound at 9 weeks and then at a few days later at the doctor's' office for dating purposes.  Here is what our baby looked like, only 2.2 to 3 cm and the size of a green olive!  Amazingly enough, Audrianna knew right what it meant when she saw the first picture.  She was so excited but instantly informed us that she wants a baby sister!

Here are the rest of my bump pictures and a few ultrasound pictures.  We have started to scan me at work (ultrasound Fridays) with the prostate scanner which is not meant for babies and very grainy but it is so amazing to see!  I could watch our baby move around forever!  Each week, Jane, Anna, and I do our best to determine the gender and so far we are guessing girl but we are only 51% sure.

It's crazy to think that over the last 10 Weeks, our baby has grown to almost 14 cm and weights about 5.5 ounces!  Next week we find out the gender and we are both so excited!  I find myself unable to sleep because I just keep thinking about if that little baby I see on the ultrasounds is a girl or boy?
