A Good Evening

February 7th:

Tonight, we only had Audrianna for three hours and MB was over shopping in Boise, so we met for dinner at Souper Salad.  We had a yummy dinner and a good time visiting and catching up.  Audrianna is getting so big and grown up!
After dinner, I meet both Kristen's for some much needed girl time and gossiping at Cafe Ole!

Super Bowl Party

February 3rd:

With the bonus room ready to use, we decided to host a Super Bowl party!  This was Super Bowl XLVII, the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens.  We asked everyone to bring an appetizer and ended up having lots of yummy football watching food!  To make watching the game more exciting, we added a little betting on the side.  Nick had made cards that had player's names written on them, anyone who wanted to play could buy two cards for a dollar, and if the player on your cards scored in the game, you won the pot of money!  We all have a great time hanging out, eating, gambling, and watching the game.
At half time, Kristen (with the help of Kathy) had brought a football toss game to raise money for her drama class.  It was $1 to toss three mini footballs.  The winner come down to a tie between Nick and Josh . . . and the picture looks like Nick was upset with his throw, but he did end up winning the prize!

The half time performance by Beyonce was a pretty good, but I have never really been a big fan.  The commercials were ok, but not super funny.  There was a long thirty minute break in the game due to a power outage in the stadium.  And, we had some sad 49ers fan because the Ravens ended up winning 34-31.

Colten's 4th Birthday

February 3rd:

Mr. Colten will turn four on February 7th, so we celebrated his birthday this weekend.  When Jennifer asked him what he wanted to do, he didn't hesitate and responded with "bowling."  Our family had gone once about a year ago and apparently it was very memorable because he wanted to go again!  We had a fun time bowling, Nick got the high score and I was on the lower side of the group.  The kids enjoyed the bumper lanes and dragon that helped them bowl.  Most important, Colten was on cloud nine.  I think his birthday was a success!

Another Ski Day!

February 2nd:

Nick, Dennis, and Audrianna went up to Bogus for another awesome ski day!  Once again the sun was shining and it was perfect ski weather.  Audrianna took a lesson and was told next time to advance to a level four!  She even attempted her first "black diamond" run!  She was so excited and proud that she texted NeNee and said "I skiied my first blake demond today!"  Nick said she struggled a little bit, but overall did great.

Bonus Room

January 27th:

We finally can use our bonus room!  For months after we moved it has been the "cord" room overflowing with electronics and extra furniture.  Nick spent many many many many hours running cable and hooking up our television, speakers, and gaming system.  We have a professional rack installed in the closet that holds all the electronic components and a sweet remote that makes for a very user friendly system!  All thanks to Nick!  We had been talking about the idea of having a sectional with a sleeper sofa and randomly we found one on craigslist.  Thanks to Nick and Austin, the very heavy sectional made it up the stairs with only one small paint chip.  With a little bit of rearranging and a new chair from Costco, our bonus room came together nicely!  We are enjoying being able to relax and play Xbox or Wii up stairs!

George Strait Concert

January 26th:

For my birthday, Kristen, Kristen, and Stephanie surprised me with a ticket to the George Strait Concert!  Our night started out with happy hour appetizers and drinks at Bardenay in Eagle.  Back in October when the girls purchased my ticket, little did they know that I would also be their designated driver, pretty sweet deal for them!
We made it to the Idaho Center on time; however, it was so crowded that we waited over 30 minutes to park in a side lot very far away and ended up walking over a mile in 10 degree weather.  We ended up missing about half of Martina McBride's opening performance.  George Strait performed an excellent show, but I must admit he choose a large selection of his older songs from the the early 80's that I had never heard before!  I had a great time and at least I can say I remember the whole concert!

Ugly Sweater Party

January 19th:

Thanks for our friends Mike and Nicole, we dressed up in our very worst ugly sweaters.  Yes, we did cheat and went to the Goodwill to purchase our sweaters for evening! I was wearing a hunter green sweatshirt decorated with kittens and fall leaves not only on the front but on the back as well.  A bonus with the sweatshirt came a connect white collar with leaf embellishments.  Nick was sporting a true sweater with a natical red, white and blue theme.  We did find out later but apparently Nick's sweater was not that ugly because I guess natical is coming back into style.  We had a fun night, I enjoyed gossiping with the ladies and Nick enjoyed man talk over an outside fire.
