2011 Ski Trip Weekend

January 27th -- 30th:

We went to McCall and stayed at the Leatham's cabin for the annual "Ski Trip Weekend."  The boys (Jonathan, Nick, Andrew, Josh, and Brian) drove up on Thursday night for guy time and beer drinking.  On Friday they had a blast skiing and messing around on Hidden Valley at Brundage.
Anna and I drove up after work on Friday and we all enjoyed a delicious manicotti dinner with strawberry tart for desert (Thanks Brian!).  Joel and Lindsay showed up a little later and we all hung out for a mellow evening playing bananagrams, ping pong, and shuffle board.
After breakfast on Saturday, we packed up lunch and drove up to Brundage.  I am still very new a skiing so Nick and I stayed on the easy runs while the rest of our group skied all over the mountain.  Overall, I did good skiing but still have a lot to improve on before I can call myself a "skier."  We took a break for lunch and had a good time hanging out and eating hot dogs (Thanks again Brian!).

That night Lindsay and Joel put together a ping-pong-a-paloza and shuffle-a-dufffe tournament.  Both tournaments had double elimination and Anna's parents knocked me out of each bracket!  Nick kicked butt and ended up coming in second at shuffle board and FIRST at ping-pong and second at shuffle board.  Nick and Cliff were awarded this giant check for coming in first in each tournament!  We had such a great weekend and are looking forward to next year!

Dinner at Texas Roadhouse

January 26th:

Chrissy had his annual doctor visit and MB drove in town to go with him.  He passed with flying colors and only had minimal seizures last year.  After his doctor appointment, we were able to all meet for dinner a Chrissy's favorite place, The Texas Roadhouse.  I couldn't believe how crowded it was for a Wednesday night, but the food was delicious as always!

Ladies' Night -- Hockey Game

January 22nd:

Thanks to the planning of Jamie and Kristen E., a group of 14 of us went out on the town for ladies' night!  We started the evening by having dinner and drinks at Proto's Pizzeria in Bodo.  Kristen vD. and I split the "Annie" napoletana style pizza and it was delicious!
After dinner, we went across the street to watch the Idaho Steelheads and Utah Grizzlies duke it out.  The Steelhead's won 8 - 1!  However, as you can guess, we didn't pay much attention to the game . . . we were too busy taking pictures, chatting, and enjoying our drinks.

By the end of the game, we were all feeling pretty good and decided to go downtown.  Of course, we stopped along the way to take more pictures!
Once we made it to the bars, we quickly started losing our crowd and by midnight, Jamie, Kristen vD. and I were the last three standing!  Of course, we ended our night with a trip to Suds and the Endzone, getting a pita, and having a sleepover at Jamies.  Hooray for ladies' night!

"Treat" Night

January 21st:

While Nick went to Sun Valley for Chad's 40th birthday, Audrianna and I stayed home and hung out for the evening.  She loves play make-believe so our night started by playing Barbies.  We had a good time and Audrianna has a great imagination but I am puzzled about how I use to play for hours with my barbies.  After a delicious dinner of macaroni and cheese, I helped Audrianna make this fancy neckless and earrings.
After bathtime, we popped a bag of popcorn and cuddled up on the couch to watch "Despicable Me."  Our night ended with Audrianna having "treat" night and being able to sleep in our bed for the night.  Along with Audrianna came her blanket and three stuff animals, we had a full bed!

Jackpot Weekend

January 15th -- 16th:

We decided to take a little Jackpot trip to celebrate Nick's, Brent's, and my Mom's birthdays.  This was an adult only trip, we drove up on Saturday morning and stayed the night in Cactus Petes.  I wish I could say that we won some money, but we didn't.  We did have a good time and tried our luck on the slots, craps, and blackjack.  Nick's favorite slot was the Survivor themed one and mine was Sex in the City theme.  We went to dinner at the Mexican Restaurant in the Horseshoe and didn't have good luck with the shrimp fajita, I ended up having the signs and symptoms of food poising of that night and it hit Nick on Sunday night.  Overall, we had a great weekend with my family, but don't need to go back to Jackpot anytime soon.

Jerrod Neimann Concert

January 13th:

Yes, another country concert and yes, free tickets!  The Buffalo Club and the local country radio stations join together and have free concerts showcasing new artists.  This time is was Jerrod Neimann.  I knew one song before going to the concert but acutually knew a few more that I thought.  I was very impressed by his performance and hope he continues to be in the spot light.

Handyman Nick

January 13th:

Nick has been wanting to put an antena in the attic and get on the roof since he moved into our house.  He was finally able to borrow a tall enough ladder to accomplish this task.  I came home from work to find Nick busy working away at this little project.  Audrianna come over for the night and of course wanted to be up in the attic "helpping dad."
