New Years 2011

December 30th -- January 2nd:

For New Year's we decided to take a weekend trip to Sun Valley and I was so excited because Jamie came with us!  Our trip started late afternoon on Thursday, we ran into a little bit of snow on the roads but made it without any trouble.  We stopped in Bellevue to eat dinner with Josh, Mariah, and Molly at Mahoney's Bar and Grill.  I had the tomato bisque soup and I wouldn't recommend getting that from a bar and grill, but the guys enjoyed their juicy lucy burgers (it's a burger with cheese inside the patty)!  Our night ended early by just heading to MB's house in Ketchum and going to to bed . . . we were saving ourselves for the big night.

On New Year's Eve, Nick was up bright and early to meet Josh at Baldy for an intense day of skiing while Jamie and I slept in until 11:00 am.  Wow, it's been a long time since I have done that!  We met the guys at the lodge and decided to eat lunch at Roundhouse.  Jamie and I purchased "foot passes" so we could ride up to the restaurant in the gondola.  The restaurant was quite fancy for a ski stop and had a 45 minute wait so we ended up finding a spot in the bar, where Jamie and I enjoyed grill cheese sandwiches and the guys shared the fondue for two!

That night we planned on going to an "outside" party at Nick's friend Gabe's house and then to the Casino.  The weather was staying around zero degrees so Jamie and I had to bring out our warm clothes and bundle up!  We went to Gabe's house where he had made formed an ice bar and had a fire in his back yard but we only lasted about thirty minutes outside then headed inside to play cards.  After eating fish tacos and hanging out we head to the the Casino to ring in the new year.  We had a blast and didn't go to bed until 3:30 am!

We spent the next day recovering; we went to breakfast at Perry's, watched a movie, and took a nap.  That night MB had friends over to celebrate a late birthday dinner for Nick.  After dinner, the three of us decided to go bowling at the Sun Valley lodge, it's an old tiny bowling ally but we had a great time.  I did get the high score of the evening with a 120!  Overall, our Sun Valley trip was a fabulous way to celebrate 2011!
