Camping at Anthony Lakes

August 8th -- 10th:

Camping at Anthony Lakes

I am not sure why we agreed to camping again with Tyson but decided to join my family heading up to Anthony Lakes in Oregon for the weekend.  Brent and Jennifer had been to Anthony Lakes Campground in June last year and had plenty of camping spots to choose from after arriving on a Friday evening.  We must have picked a busy weekend because upon arrive at 8:30 pm, there was only one camping spot left and we needed four, one RV spot and three tent spots!  After talking with the camp host, the best option was to split up, Nick and I stayed in the main camp ground and my family headed down to the tent spots near the boat dock.  So needless to say, we started setting up our little spot at 9:30 pm at night and racing against the day light!  Tyson did amazing well, considering he did not sleep in the car and had a busy week.  He was happy as a clam with his Zoo toy, learning lantern, and a large hand full of peach puffs.  After an hour of setting up camp and a little struggle, Nick made us a nice camp fire.  Tyson fell asleep rocking in my arms!  It was all very peaceful until 2 pm, when Tyson woke up screaming, he ended up sleeping with us but only lasted till 5:30 am!  It think it’s safe to say that we were the first ones awake in the campground.   We met up with my family for a yummy French toast, hashbrown, bacon, and sausage breakfast!   Our day was full of fishing, hiking around, and hanging out enjoying the beautiful mountain scenery and air.  The weather was perfect during the day, mid 70’s but pretty chilly at night, low 40’s.

Later that day we went exploring and found Lily Pad Lake.  It was a perfect weather and nice to hike around.  That night we enjoyed a big fire at my parents camp...Tyson was crazy about the s'mores!  He helped me eat all of mine and then lunged into my mom's lap to eat hers.

The next morning, the kids and I went for a walk along the path around the lake.  We didn't go all the way around but it was nice to enjoy the cool mountain air.  Then we spent some time in the canoe...Tyson loved it!  He was making me a little nervous cause he just wanted to touch the water, good thing for the handle on his life jacket!

Jet Boat

August 1st - 3rd:

We headed up north to Lewiston for our annual Davis Family "Christmas Gift."  This year, Dennis planned a Hells Canyon day trip on a jet boat down the Snake River. It was a first for everyone, except Tyson, he stayed in Fruitland for his first sleepover with Nana & Papa.  The second that we arrived at the hotel, Audrianna and Elle wanted to go swimming.  We stuffed ourselves at the hotel restaurant, Bogies with appetizers, wine, and seafood!

The next morning we boarded the boat at 8 am for a fun filled day on the water!

My mom made my evening cause she figured out how to do skype and I was able to say goodnight to Tyson!  He looked right at me and said, “Momma!”  My heart melted!!  I love hearing that!  He a great time with Nana, Papa, Uncle Ross, and Hannah, playing and eating new foods!   We all had a great memorable weekend!  Thank Grandpa Davis!

Hannah's 6th Birthday

July 26th:

Yes . . . after slacking for 10 months, I am back in the saddle and wanting to update our crazy busy lives!  Hannah's 6th Birthday party seems like a great place to start!  I can't believe Miss Hannah Banana is 6!  She has been into swimming so Ross reserved the Payette Municipal Pool, Hannah had a blast swimming with her friends and family!  After we enjoyed lunch in the park, followed by presents, and birthday cake.  It was a little crazy but turned out great!  Hannah was beaming from ear to ear and loved having both her dad and mom there along with her daycare friends!

Tyson loved swimming but I missed getting his picture in the water.  At the party, he discovered that sitting on Papa's lap and eating ice cubes was the best place to be!
He also discovered that he could climb up into the chair all by himself.  Uncle Brent would help him rock back and forth, and Tyson would just relax back and giggle.

After the party we headed back to Nana and Papa's house, Tyson enjoyed playing with the "new to him" toys!  He was being so silly and putting on a show for everyone by rolling across the floor and back.  He would roll, wait for me to tickle him, and then giggle as he rolled off.  Every once in a while he would accidentally stop the rolling motion or stand up and it was hilarious to watch him figure out how to sit back down and start rolling again!  You probably had to be there to understand how funny it was but makes me smile just writing about it!

I had such a good time at Hannah's birthday and an awesome weekend all around.  I spent a lot of one on one time playing with Tyson,  Nick was in Stanley for "Guys Weekend & Josh's Birthday/Bachelor, and Audrianna was at her annual Potholes Camping trip (super excited to see her this Thursday, since we had to skip last Thursday).  I didn't speak to Nick all weekend but based off a few text messages, I could tell he was completely enjoying himself and the much need guy time.  The guys hung out a Red Fish on Friday morning, then headed out for their overnight motorcycle trip and ended up camping at an isolated 9300 feet in the Stanley Mountains.  On Saturday evening they enjoyed a "sweet" (Nick's words) concert in Stanley and then took another long ride on Sunday afternoon.  I am sure that Nick will need a vacation after his vacation!  Here are a few pictures from Facebook.

Tyson's New Toys

July 22nd:

Once we got home from the doctor's office, Tyson spotted his new fire truck in the living (we had just finished putting it together the night before)!  Watching him play with it for the first time was priceless!  He was so intrigued, happy, and giggly! He first discovered the steering wheel and how to honk the horn from standing outside the truck.  Next figured out that he could pull the truck towards him, he would fall down, and the truck would roll towards him.  He was being so silly!  Next, I showed him that he could open the door and climb inside!  He instantly thought it was fun to climb out the other side, which doesn't have a door.  Soon, he was mesmerized by opening and closing the door.  Then back to honking the horn, over and over again!  Last, I pushed the truck throughout our house.  He loved his first fire truck ride! Thanks Nana & Papa!
Another hit from Tyson's birthday is his new activity table from Dennis and Andy.  He was so excited that he started playing with it still in the box and then keep playing before I could put the legs on.  He loves dropping the balls into the middle and having the circle light up!  His second favorite part is the little flip book that sings as he flips the page back and forth.  He was having a blast playing with his new table!

Tyson's One Year Check-up

July 22nd:

It was time again to see Dr. Gerrish and Melissa . . . both of them couldn't believe that Tyson is already one years old!  It's funny to reflect back to last year when Nick and I went to the doctor for his three day old appointment, we were both exhausted and looked like deer in the headlights!  Tyson was all smiles during the first part of his appointment; however, all he wanted to do was explore and crawl around on the floor!  He weights 22.5 pounds (65%), is 31 inches tall (87%), and his head is 18 inches around (37%).  He was very cooperative during the physical exam and wanted to touch anything that Dr. Gerrish had in her hand.  He did show off by practicing his "bye bye" wave.  When it was time for shots and Daddy was suppose to hold but Tyson only wanted Mommy, so I had to be the mean one!  Tyson was very upset and crying, but I was able to calm him down as soon as the shots were done!  Good job buddy!

Chrissy's 40th Birthday Celebration

July 19th:

Christopher turned  the BIG 40 on July 9th!  We celebrated by going swimming at the West YMCA. Chrissy loved being in the water!  We all had a good time swimming and playing around in the warm therapy pool.  Audrianna took Tyson down the kiddie slide, which made me little nervous but he loved it!!  After swimming we enjoyed a yummy rib dinner at Goodwood, followed by delicious oreo birthday cake.  Happy Birthday Chrissy!
