One Last Work Weekend!

June 30th:

Like I said earlier, I was secretly hoping that Tyson would make his appearance this weekend but I think he knew that Nick and I had a lot of last minute things to get done.  Yesterday,  I was super proud of Nick for finishing the fence while I cleaned our house from top to bottom and worked on Tyson's room.  Today, we completed the garage!  It was a huge task that I honestly thought would never get done.  Nick and I were out there for the whole day and now it looks amazing!  All in record breaking heat of 105 degrees!  Afterwards, we finally took our BOB stroller out of the box, I was pretty excited!  Ok, Mr. Tyson you can come now!

Tyson's Nursery

June 29th:

Yes, I said it . . . we officially picked out a name!  We have decided on Tyson Davis!  We gave Audrianna a list of four middle names and are giving her time to think about it and letting her decide.  Tyson for the first name was one that Nick and I both looked over in the beginning.  Somehow in talking about names it came back around and was actually a pretty easy decision.  It just felt right and was a huge relief to come to an agreement that we both liked!  I was secretly hoping that Tyson would make his appearance today but good thing he didn't because with the help of my mom, we completed his nursery today!  It's super fun and bright!  Thanks mom for all you patience and help!

Dinner with the Girls

June 26th:

I have the best girlfriends ever!  Thanks to Kristen Elle, a group of us met at the Reef for dinner tonight.  It was great to visit and hang out one last time before my life changes.  We had a great time laughing and catching up!  Thanks girls!

38 Weeks!

June 27th:

Only two more weeks to go!  It's so crazy and now that it's down to the wire, it feels like my pregnancy has flown by.  Overall, I am feeling pretty good, little aches and pains here and there.  Lately, he has been having the hiccups a little more.  I can tell that he is getting low on room but love when he tries to stretch out!  I decided to have Nick take a picture this week in my walking/everything outfit which is pretty much what I have been living in while I am home.  It's so comfortable and now that it's getting hotter much more enjoyable to wear.

Jen & Micah's Wedding

June 22nd:

Little Coffey got hitch!  Jen and Miach had a beautiful ceremony and reception at the Penthouse on top of the C.W. Moore Building in downtown Boise.  The weather was absolutely perfect for an outside wedding.  Jen looked stunning as always.  Jamie was the maid of honor and looked just as gorgeous!  The hosted a delicious dinner and a stocked bar.  They had the super fun photo booth and a great DJ.  All and all their wedding was a hit!

Family Baby Shower!

June 22nd:

I have the best family ever!  Amy and Andy, along with the help of Julie and Jennifer threw me a baby shower.  When deciding on the date, I was a little nervous that it was going to be super hot and that I would be very uncomfortable at 37 weeks pregnant but it was a beautiful cool morning.  Amy's back yard and porch looked great as always!
After visiting and enjoying a yummy brunch, it was time to open presents!  Audrianna sat next to me and helped by reading all the cards out loud.  She is becoming such a good little reader.  Once again, the baby and I were super spoiled with lots of goodies from clothes, to diapers, to toys, to practical items.  I was lucky enough to receive my diaper bag, high chair, and two very special blankets!  I feel pretty special!

After presents, we all enjoyed a little cake and I make everyone take a picture with me and the baby!  It was such a great and relaxing shower.  I am very fortunate for all the love and support from my family!

37 Weeks!

June 20th:

Sleeping is getting a little more uncomfortable!  I have to keep myself propped up or I get bad heartburn.  I wake up a least two or more times to go to the bathroom!  Some nights, I can't seem to fall asleep no matter how tired I am.  I lay awake thinking about our little guy!  I think I am having braxton hicks contractions but I  can only notice them by touching my belly . . .sometimes it gets hard as a rock!  My feet have continued to swell.  We are getting closer on a name but I am beginning to understand why parents keep it a surprise because I am getting really tired of people wrinkling up their noses at our choices.

Father's Day

June 16th:

Father's Day started by meeting up with Dennis at the Sunrise Cafe off State street.  We all enjoyed a super yummy breakfast while the guys filled up on their morning coffee.
On our way home I mentioned to Nick about a vintage arcade, Grinkers, that I had heard about in Eagle.  We decided to check it out.  It was only about 10:30 am so I figured it might not be open but it was worth a try. As we were walking up to the doors, we ran into the owner who was super friendly and informed us that they didn't open until 11:00 am.  She said a long as we didn't want to eat that we could come in and start playing.  It was pretty nice of her and awesome to have the whole arcade for just the three of us!  The best part was being in there when she turned the power on to all the games and to watch them all light up at once!  We all had a really good time but I think Nick enjoyed it most of all!  It was a trip down memory lane for him.  They had all the old classic arcade games that Nick use to play over and over.  He keep saying, "you know how much money I use to pump into this game?"  It was fun to watch him remember how to play them.  Some of the games that Nick played were, O*bert, Mortal Combat, Off Road, Super Sprint, Dig Dug, 1942, and the classic Mario Brothers.  Audrianna had fun but did ask why we didn't get tickets or prizes for playing the games.  It funny how things change and the differences about arcades that she is growing up with compared to Nick and I.
After about two hours at Grinkers we headed home.  Audrianna was excited to have Nick open his presents.  We gave him the annual Father's Day book, a shirt and shorts, and a reclining lawn chair that has an attached umbrella!
Next, we headed to Fruitland to celebrate with my family.  The kids were so excited to see each other and had fun running around playing.  We watched an old video from my Dad's childhood and then had ice cream cake.  Last all the dads opened their gifts and then it was time to leave so we could have Audrianna home on time.
After dropping Audiranna off, Nick and I decided to eat dinner at Mono's Grill off Eagle Road.  We hadn't been there before and were pleasantly surprised.  It is an all you can eat Mongolian BBQ restaurant with a soup and salad bar.  We were impressed by how much of a variety of food available.  Nick was in heaven because of all the seafood.  Here is a picture of him with a piece of calamari!

Childbirth Prep & Amber's 30th Birthday

June 15th:

We survived a day long childbirth preparation class at St. Luke's!  All and all it was a pretty good class, the nurse was super informative and did a great job keeping everyone's attention.  The class lasted seven hours and I was ready to leave after about four hours.  On a positive note, Nick was super supportive!  I am glad he was there with me and will be my coach during this birthing process.  Now only if we can remember what we learned when the big day comes!
After our class, we headed to Sunset park to celebrate Amber's 30th birthday.  It was a beautiful day and the park had plenty of shade which made it super relaxing and comfortable!  It was nice to see Amber, Zeb, and Elle, who is growing so fast.  It was great to catch up with everyone and enjoy a potluck BBQ.

One month to go! (36 weeks)

June 12th:

One month to go!!!  We went to the doctor yesterday which will be the start our once a week appointments.  I know it's been 8 months but this pregnancy has truly gone by really fast.  I can not wait to meet our little guy but I am not to the point where I am miserable and just want him out.  In fact, I keep talking to him and telling him that I still have one more baby shower and a few things left to get together before he can make his appearance.  Plus, we are still narrowing down a name.  It looks like Miles is still a top runner but I am still holding onto Tyler or Ty.  Our plan is to make a decision by the weekend of June 22nd.  He is still moving around a ton; however, he definitely makes different movements than even last week.  I can see him as rolls from side to side and I feel he is lower than before. So far I have not experienced shortness of breath because he is riding pretty low.  At our doctors appointment, everything looked good, I am still measuring right on and his heart beat is strong at 148.  She did check and I am only dilated to a 1/2 centimeter at this point.  As I read, it's crazy to think that our little one weights about 6 pounds and is over 20 inches in length.
My feet keep impressing me and swelling more and more each week!  I am trying to keep them elevated as much as possible.  Here is a picture of them after work today!

Baby Care Basics

June 11th:

Yes, we did it . . . we attended the baby care basics class offered by St. Lukes.  Amazingly enough, the class was full of about 15 to 20 first time couples.  Most of the information is stuff that we have heard before but I guess it doesn't hurt to hear it twice.  The main thing that we learned was the 5 S's of calming a baby down and watched a video, "The Happiest Baby on the Block," which was quite hilarious but the author sure knows what he is talking about.  At the end of the class, we all practice changing a diaper and how to correctly swaddle on a baby doll.  Nick was such as a good sport and even let me take a few pictures!
