This is the first year that Audrianna was with us on the 4th of July so we decided to have a family BBQ! All the kids looked cute in their red, white, and blue outfits!
We were going to have the kids eat outside but found a small wasp nest in the umbrella. When Nick lifted the umbrella out of the table, it slipped out of his hand and accidentally broke the plexiglass table into a million little pieces! It was quite the mess, but Nick, Brent, and Ross helped cleaned it up.
With the record breaking heat, we decided some water toys for the kids would be a good idea! We got a slip and slide, water balloons, and broke out our sprinkler water toy. The kids had a blast!
Unfortunately, it was not as hot as it has been for the last week and it was a little over cast, so the water toys only lasted about 20 minutes before the kids had blue lips! So we came inside to celebrate Ross's 24th birthday. We gave him two shirts and lottery tickets. Nick picked out some good tickets because he won all his money back!
Next, the kids were so excited to light fireworks that we set up in the front yard about two hours before it was dark. The kids had fun with the snakes, poppers, and sparklers. It was actually a very nice evening, the temperature was perfect for hanging out!
Audiranna and Brittney lined up our fireworks from biggest to smallest!
As soon as it was dark our firework show began! Our neighbors also had a big display so it was fun to light one of ours and then watch some of theirs. Also, someone behind us had the large illegal ones that were fun to watch! I was very surprised that there was so many fireworks going off around the area.
All and all it was a very fun 4th of July!
